New European Patent System - where do companies stand?

Gonçalo de Sampaio, partner at JEDC, participated, as president of the Portuguese Group of AIPPI - International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, in the event "The new European patent system - risks and threats for Portuguese companies".

The initiative took place in Abreu Advogados' auditorium, in Lisbon, and was moderated by Diogo Agostinho, ECO's deputy general manager with a panel of guests that included João Pereira da Cruz, president of ACPI - Portuguese Association of Intellectual Property Consultants, Luis Marques Mendes, consultant at Abreu Advogados, and Pedro Pimentel, general manager of Centromarca.

Under debate was the possible impact and negative consequences that the new European patent system that Portugal signed in 2015 may have on the economic interests of Portuguese companies.
